Session Description

The outbreak of SARS-CO-V2 Virus has disturbed almost every country and eventually WHO declared this outbreak as global pandemic. As on date per WHO statistics, there are 39,596,858 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 1,107,374 deaths across the globe.

The devastating spread of novel coronavirus, COVID-19, is making the lives of people more horrible across the globe. On looking into the history, there were many such situations where the virus had created serious harm to the mankind and with great effort of researchers we had managed. But, this COVID-19 caused many families to depart and many countries to suffer for minimum food especially in under developing countries.

Today, we live in a world populated society by densely settled cities and countries, in which people travel internationally on an unprecedented scale. These conditions challenge humanity to work together.

In addition to the human health burden, the COVID-19 pandemic has damaged the global economy and daily life on an unexpected scale. Researchers worldwide have acted quickly to combat the pandemic of COVID-19, working from different perspectives such as omics, imaging, clinical, and population health research, to identify effective treatment and prevention strategies.

Recommended Topics

This Special Issue aims to highlight the development of novel informatics to collect, integrate and analyze diverse types of data relevant to COVID-19, in order to accelerate knowledge acquisition and scientific discoveries in COVID-19 research, thus informing better decision making in clinical practice and health policies. Although this special session targets research contributions towards COVID-19, however research contributions addressing other disease predictions are also welcome. The topics of interest include (but not limited to)

  • Emergency Medicine
  • Machine Learning approaches for public health
  • Healthcare delivery
  • Pulmonary/critical care
  • Bio-Informatics
  • Viral Infections
  • Image mining and analytics for disease prediction
  • Deep Learning techniques for healthcare applications
  • Machine learning designs and implementations for disease prediction
